SAN DIEGO / SAN FRANCISCO, September 28, 2026 - AI systems and robots are turning the physical world into an enormous source of machine-generated data. Cameras identify objects, robots map environments, sensors monitor equipment and AI agents accumulate files, observations and memories. XYO, the data infrastructure company behind XYO Layer One, today announced a partnership with Autonomys to give developers a way to store that growing body of data while maintaining verifiable records of what happened.
The integration connects XYO Layer One with Auto Drive, Autonomys' decentralized storage platform. Developers can use Auto Drive to preserve large datasets while using XYO Layer One to create verifiable records tied to that data.
"XYO Layer One is built for data-heavy applications, but not every piece of data belongs directly on-chain," said Arie Trouw, CEO, CTO, and Co-Founder of XYO. "Autonomys gives developers a strong storage layer that complements the verification capabilities of XYO."
The collaboration is designed for applications that generate large or continuously growing datasets, including AI, robotics, DePIN, sensor networks and other machine-driven systems.
XYO Layer One has already integrated NVIDIA Jetson edge hardware. In a demonstration using NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano, a camera-equipped device classifies what it sees, signs the observation cryptographically and writes it to XYO Layer One. With Auto Drive in place, the images and sensor data behind each observation can also be stored, giving developers a way to preserve the data generated at the edge alongside its blockchain record.
The combination could also extend beyond AI and robotics into financial applications where physical-world data affects the value, ownership or risk linked to an asset. An insurer, for example, could preserve the sensor or camera data behind an autonomous vehicle incident alongside a verifiable record of when the observation occurred.
For tokenized real-world assets, the same infrastructure could preserve records around an asset's condition, location or history, providing data that can remain associated with the asset as it moves between owners or financial platforms.
XYO has grown to more than 10 million nodes worldwide since launching in 2018 and has processed more than 100 billion data queries.
"XYO and Autonomys are solving different parts of the same problem," said Todd Ruoff, CEO of Autonomys. "Together, we can give developers a practical way to preserve data while keeping it connected to verifiable blockchain records."
Autonomys has been building its Auto Drive ecosystem around AI agents and machine-generated data, with integrations including SpoonOS, which enables AI agents to upload, manage and retrieve files through Auto Drive, and Fry Networks, which uses decentralized infrastructure to preserve data generated by DePIN networks.
The first open-source developer sample demonstrates the integration using Auto Drive for storage and XYO Layer One for transaction signing and finality. The architecture can be adapted for AI agents, robotics, DePIN networks, sensor infrastructure and other applications where large datasets need to remain available alongside verifiable records.
XYO co-founder Markus Levin said, "this partnership expands what developers and businesses can build around XYO. It makes much larger datasets practical without sacrificing verification." He added, "the goal is not to put every piece of data on-chain. It is to make sure that when large datasets are stored elsewhere, they can still remain connected to a verifiable record of their origin and history."
The XYO and Autonomys teams will continue developing documentation and examples around the integration as the partnership expands.
